Base Salary
$166k - $236k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead SDN topology and southbound application functions for the Virtuora Network Controller.
- Lead Layer 0 DWDM, Layer 1 OTN, and Layer 2 packet SDN application functions.
- Analyze requirements and design, develop, and maintain SDN controller software components.
- Participate in Open ROADM technical discussions and solve service-modeling and vendor-interoperability challenges.
- Contribute to telecommunications and data communications domain modeling using ITU-T, ONF, and MTNM standards.
- Drive end-to-end feature development and ensure execution and quality of applications.
- Investigate, report, and resolve issues during system testing.
- Interface with, monitor, and evaluate external software vendors supporting the platform.
- Technically lead the team while managing multiple concurrent tasks.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of experience developing transport network management products covering DWDM, OTN, and packet technologies.
- Expertise in Core Java, Scala, threads, collections, data structures, object-oriented analysis and design, design patterns, and UML modeling.
- Hands-on experience with OpenDaylight and SDN controller development.
- Experience with Netconf, TL1, Yang, JSON, and XML.
- Knowledge of Oracle, MySQL, and Cassandra databases.
- Experience with at least two to three full-cycle network management system product developments.
- Exposure to Kubernetes, Docker, HDFS, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Spark, and distributed big-data systems.
- Expertise designing and developing APIs, with exposure to OSGi, Spring, Blueprint, and messaging frameworks such as Kafka.
- Experience with unit testing and development frameworks and tools including JUnit, Jenkins, and Postman.
- Familiarity with Git, Gerrit, and JIRA.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and ability to lead end-to-end feature development.
- Nice-to-have experience with graph data structures or databases and path-computation algorithms such as Dijkstra or Yen.
