Base Salary

Responsibilities

Own product modules end-to-end, from scoping and architecture through implementation, iteration, and production delivery.
Build versioned APIs, backend services, and independent React and TypeScript user interfaces in collaboration with customers.
Design agentic AI systems across Slack bots, terminal interfaces, web applications, vendor integrations, and conversational interfaces.
Make features drivable by LLM agents through MCP and FastMCP servers.
Move pricing and business logic into backend services and maintain typed Pydantic pricing ontologies.
Lead architectural reviews and technical discussions focused on robustness, extensibility, security, and financial correctness.
Establish testing, observability, deployment, and performance-monitoring practices for AI-driven features.
Mentor peers, influence product strategy, define engineering culture, and improve AI-native software development practices.
Perform thorough root-cause analysis for production issues involving money-handling code.

8+ years of software engineering experience with ownership of product areas at startup or staff-level scope.
Deep production backend expertise with FastAPI, Python, and MongoDB or a comparable stack.
Strong full-stack capability, including the ability to independently ship clean React and TypeScript UIs.
Experience taking ambiguous customer problems through shipped features without a dedicated product manager.
Experience with B2B SaaS monetization, including pricing models, packaging, quoting, billing, or CPQ.
Experience building or integrating AI-assisted features and agent-driven workflows such as LLM-driven interfaces or MCP-like endpoints.
High standards for correctness, financial logic, and data integrity.
Experience building MCP servers or LLM-agent tooling is preferred.
Experience with billing, CPQ, metering, or pricing systems is preferred.
Familiarity with data residency, SOC 2, or GDPR-compliant development practices is preferred.
Prior experience as a technical founder or early employee who shipped a 0-to-1 B2B product to paying customers is preferred.
Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Salary range of $200,000 to $250,000 USD annually.
On-site role in San Francisco, California; candidates must be based in San Francisco or willing and able to relocate.
