Base Salary
$197k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Build and deploy proprietary AI-powered risk management and regulatory solutions.
- Develop robust cloud-based solutions in collaboration with digital product managers.
- Use Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
- Provide technical leadership across teams by setting standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Identify improvement opportunities, reduce technical debt, and improve system performance.
- Mentor engineers and influence long-term technology strategy through evaluation of emerging tools and practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field is required.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience is required; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies is required.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's degree, 7+ years coding in multiple listed languages, database experience, cloud experience, open-source framework contributions, and frontend JavaScript or TypeScript framework experience.
- Preferred experience includes API development, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, automated testing, Git-based version control, cloud troubleshooting, observability, AI coding tools, mentoring, and leading cross-functional engineering initiatives.
- Preferred candidates have experience establishing coding standards and design patterns across teams.

- Full-time annual salary varies by location: $179,400-$204,700 in Richmond, VA and $197,300-$225,100 in Cambridge, MA or McLean, VA.
- Performance-based incentive compensation may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
