Base Salary
$111k - $167k/yr
Responsibilities
- Investigate and resolve software stability issues across multi-processor Linux and multi-RTOS environments.
- Analyze timing issues and contribute to application performance optimization.
- Collaborate with hardware, software, test, and customer engineering teams on issue triage.
- Apply low-level debugging tools including JTAG, ETM, Trace32, GDB, and oscilloscopes.
- Perform code inspection, instrumentation, and log analysis to identify root causes.
- Participate in chip bring-up, stability scrums, and feature design discussions.
- Automate and improve debugging processes through scripts and documentation.
- Develop expertise in Qualcomm SoC, CPUSS, DSP, interconnect, Linux kernel, device drivers, RTOS, and QNN DSP execution.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field plus 2+ years of software engineering or related experience; alternatively, a master’s degree plus 1+ year or a PhD.
- 2+ years of academic or work experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Preferred background in electronics, computer science, semiconductor, or embedded systems, including relevant internships or academic projects.
- Proficiency in C/C++, with Assembly familiarity as a plus.
- Understanding of Linux internals, device drivers, memory management, and RTOS scheduling and synchronization.
- Familiarity with Trace32, GDB, hardware/software interaction, ARM, Cortex, Hexagon, AHB, and NoC architectures.
- Experience with Python, Perl, or Shell scripting and Linux device drivers, kernel modules, or system-level debugging is preferred.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, learning, adaptability, and collaboration skills.
