Base Salary
$111k - $167k/yr
Responsibilities
- Analyze key software benchmarks and applications to identify performance optimization opportunities.
- Implement software optimizations while preserving power consumption targets.
- Develop and enhance analysis tools and instrumentation to identify performance gaps and optimization options.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external partners on performance analysis and optimization.
- Identify risks associated with designs, approaches, and work efforts.
- Solve complex technical problems affecting significant areas of products.
- Make decisions amid incomplete, contradictory, or ambiguous requirements affecting multiple software development teams.
- Act as a technical lead, own project outcomes, and lead others with technical credibility.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, information systems, computer science, or a related field plus 2+ years of software engineering or related experience; alternatively, a master's degree plus 1+ year or a PhD in a related field.
- At least 2 years of academic or work experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, or Python.
- Preferred qualifications include a master's degree in engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field.
- Preferred experience includes 4+ years of software engineering focused on power/performance, C/C++, ARM assembly, ARM architecture, CPU and memory/bus architecture, performance characterization, and software optimization.
- Familiarity with C#, Java, JavaScript, and Python is preferred, and experience with compilers, JIT technologies, and CPU software benchmarks is a plus.
- Experience debugging complex issues across hardware, operating systems, compilers, and drivers is preferred.
- Experience with Windows OS, Visual Studio, LLVM compiler, and Windows Performance Analyzer is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication, self-management, leadership, and ability to work through ambiguous requirements are expected.
