Base Salary
$158k - $190k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build shared services, APIs, and workflows supporting administrative experiences, integrations, and core platform capabilities.
- Design reliable backend systems for cross-domain business flows and operationally critical use cases.
- Apply AI throughout planning, coding, review, testing, and quality improvement.
- Create reusable engineering skills, patterns, and guidance for AI-assisted development.
- Partner with product, design, and engineering teams to scope and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Own quality through testing, observability, safe rollout practices, and production issue investigation.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software engineering experience building production backend systems and APIs.
- Strong fluency with AI-assisted software delivery and judgment about appropriate AI use.
- Experience with Go or deep proficiency in a comparable backend language such as Java.
- Experience with transactional databases such as Postgres, RDS, or Aurora, including schema design, migrations, query performance, and reliability.
- Experience designing APIs, service boundaries, data models, and integration patterns in distributed systems.
- Comfort with workflow orchestration, event-driven architectures, and operational complexity.
- Strong quality practices involving testing, CI/CD, telemetry, and production ownership.
- Strong communication and a high-ownership approach to technical execution.
- Preferred experience includes shared platform capabilities, fintech or payments systems, transaction-heavy products, administrative systems, integration platforms, enterprise workflows, or AI-assisted engineering adoption.
