Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support highly available enterprise applications.
- Build and evolve the Schwab Customer Identifier enterprise identity platform.
- Develop distributed applications, APIs, event-driven solutions, and cloud-aligned services.
- Translate business needs into scalable technical solutions and contribute to solution design decisions.
- Improve application performance, reliability, maintainability, automation, and engineering practices.
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
- Own and deliver features from design through production deployment.
- Support real-time data processing, streaming applications, batch processing, and data pipelines as applicable.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field.
- 6+ years of software engineering experience with Java, Spring Framework, and API development.
- 2+ years of experience with relational or distributed databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Yugabyte.
- 2+ years of experience with source control, continuous integration, and continuous delivery tools such as Git, Bitbucket, or Bamboo.
- 2+ years of experience developing and deploying applications in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar technologies.
- Experience working in Agile environments with tools such as Jira and Confluence.
- Experience designing, developing, testing, deploying, and supporting enterprise applications across the software development lifecycle.
- Preferred experience developing event-driven architectures with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging technologies.
- Preferred experience with real-time data processing, streaming applications, batch processing, data pipelines, Spring Batch, or PySpark.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, communication, adaptability, and continuous-learning skills.
- Strong focus on software quality, test automation, and production reliability.
