Middleware Infrastructure Automation Developer - Assistant Vice President
State StreetResponsibilities
- Design, develop, and support automation solutions for middleware and web application platforms.
- Build and maintain Python and UNIX shell scripts for business-as-usual automation, health checks, monitoring, validation, and remediation.
- Enable self-service automation for application and operations teams through APIs and workflow-based solutions.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, patching, upgrades, cleanup, and other platform and infrastructure operations.
- Support incident, problem, and change management through automation-first approaches.
- Collaborate with Middleware, SRE, and Infrastructure teams to standardize and automate operational processes.
- Maintain automation code in version control using secure and scalable development practices.
- Identify improvements to platform resilience, performance, and operational efficiency.
- Manage defects and user stories using Jira, ServiceNow, and Confluence.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience with Python.
- Strong experience with UNIX/Linux shell scripting.
- Solid understanding of middleware, platform, or infrastructure operations.
- Experience building operational automation for production environments.
- Knowledge of REST APIs and integration with enterprise tools.
- Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in production support or platform engineering environments.
- Six or more years of IT experience in platform engineering automation.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Preferred experience with middleware technologies, CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, workflow orchestration tools, ServiceNow, CyberArk, Dynatrace, Splunk, Azure, or AWS.
- Exposure to AI-assisted development, LLMs, AI agents, intelligent workflows, and observability tools is preferred.
