Senior Software Engineer
SS&C TechnologiesResponsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, troubleshoot, support, and optimize enterprise Blue Prism automations.
- Own automation solutions across discovery, feasibility, architecture, development, release, production support, optimization, and retirement.
- Build reusable Blue Prism processes, business objects, frameworks, templates, utility objects, and operational-support capabilities.
- Integrate Blue Prism with applications, APIs, databases, file systems, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and enterprise platforms.
- Build and consume REST and SOAP services using XML, JSON, authentication, certificates, tokens, and secure credentials.
- Perform root-cause analysis, resolve production failures, improve resilience and throughput, and implement permanent technical fixes.
- Support environment upgrades, migrations, configuration changes, patching, capacity planning, monitoring, releases, incidents, and problem management.
- Create technical designs, deployment instructions, runbooks, support procedures, troubleshooting guides, and other documentation.
- Conduct technical design and code reviews and contribute to engineering standards, governance, reusable frameworks, and Centre of Excellence practices.
- Work with infrastructure, architecture, information security, database, application-support, and business teams to resolve technical dependencies.
Requirements
- 7+ years of overall technology experience and at least 5 years of recent, continuous, hands-on Blue Prism development experience.
- Strong expertise in Blue Prism Process Studio, Object Studio, application modelling, spying techniques, work queues, credentials, schedules, sessions, and runtime resources.
- Demonstrated experience building complex enterprise Blue Prism solutions and supporting them in production.
- Experience diagnosing issues involving applications, virtual machines, databases, APIs, permissions, credentials, certificates, and infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of exception handling, recovery, retries, logging, auditability, transaction management, and operational resilience.
- Experience designing reusable components and enterprise automation architecture at scale.
- Experience integrating REST APIs, SOAP services, XML, JSON, databases, file systems, and enterprise applications.
- Good working knowledge of SQL and experience with at least one of C#, .NET, Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or VBA.
- Experience automating browser-based, desktop, Java, Citrix, virtual desktop, and legacy applications.
- Experience with production monitoring, incident, problem, change, and release management.
- Understanding of SDLC, Agile delivery, release controls, security controls, and enterprise development standards.
- Ability to convert business requirements into automation designs, assess feasibility and risks, estimate complexity, and recommend solutions.
- Strong debugging, analytical, root-cause-analysis, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred: Blue Prism Developer, Professional Developer, Technical Architect, or equivalent certification.
- Preferred: experience in regulated enterprise environments, Blue Prism upgrades or migrations, disaster recovery, infrastructure design, environment administration, Blue Prism Hub, Interact, Capture, Process Intelligence, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, monitoring tools, automated deployments, or DevOps practices.
