Responsibilities
- Participate in all phases of software engineering, from inception and coding through testing, delivery, and operation.
- Develop high-quality, clean, maintainable software and improve product quality, security, and performance.
- Design and launch features across application and infrastructure layers in collaboration with engineers and other team members.
- Build and maintain backend services, secure REST APIs, microservices, user interfaces, scripts, and deployment tools.
- Manage application installations, environments, infrastructure, troubleshooting, and daily operational activities.
- Interact with clients to understand requirements, provide analysis and recommendations, and support successful product implementation.
- Participate in on-call service duties.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of software development experience.
- Hands-on experience with object-oriented and architectural design patterns, application/backend engineering, secure REST APIs, and microservices.
- Strong knowledge of Java, Spring, Spring Boot, Hibernate, Python, Perl, Bash, Postgres, GitHub, GitHub Actions, GCP, OpenStack, React, Redux, and Jest.
- Knowledge of Linux, networking concepts, application security, load balancing, OAuth2, queue messaging, and Kafka.
- Experience with infrastructure design and DevOps, including application housekeeping, installation, environment management, problem management, and daily operations.
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining scripts, deployment and installation tools, and file transfer scripts.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools such as Terraform and Packer.
- Knowledge of orchestration and containerization concepts and tools such as Kubernetes and Docker.
- Fluent written and spoken English, strong planning and prioritization skills, customer focus, troubleshooting ability, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively under pressure.
