Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, maintain, and improve frontend and backend applications for BMG’s treasury and transaction banking platforms.
- Build APIs, integration services, and user-facing functionality supporting liquidity and information management solutions.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, technical designs, code reviews, refactoring, automated testing, and engineering standards.
- Own services through development and production, including monitoring, incident investigation, root cause analysis, alerting, reliability, and on-call support.
- Automate repetitive operational activities and improve productivity through AI-assisted engineering tools and modern tooling.
- Maintain compliance with technology governance, security, risk, DORA, resilience, disaster recovery, and service continuity requirements.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Architects, DevOps engineers, stakeholders, and international teams.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and contribute to technical communities, squad activities, and platform modernization initiatives.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience using a JVM language and related technologies.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java 21, Spring Boot 4.x, Spring Framework, JPA/Hibernate, APIs, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, accessibility, security, and frontend frameworks such as Lit-HTML, Angular, React, Vue, or Svelte.
- Experience with enterprise integration patterns, JMS, Kafka, relational databases such as MS SQL Server or Oracle, and performance tuning of data-intensive operations.
- Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, Maven, Confluence, source control, documentation, and defining CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience testing code with frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, JGiven, Cucumber, or Karate, plus knowledge of Playwright for web testing and automation.
- Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, communication protocols, Domain-Driven Design, and software architecture patterns.
- Strong analytical, stakeholder management, communication, independent decision-making, and cross-border collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience includes JMeter or Gatling, application metrics and profiling, Elastic Stack, IT security concepts, and additional JVM or programming languages such as Kotlin.
- Advanced English proficiency is required.
- Completed bachelor’s or master’s education in Computer Science, Cybernetics, Software Engineering, Financial Engineering, or an equivalent analytical field.
