Responsibilities
- Own technical discovery, requirements analysis, scoping, solution design, and proof-of-concept execution.
- Present architecture options to CTOs, CIOs, data engineers, architects, and other customer stakeholders.
- Optimize analytical workloads through projection design, partitioning, resource management, Eon Mode scaling, and cost/performance tuning.
- Design and validate migration strategies from legacy enterprise data warehouses, cloud data warehouses, and Hadoop/Spark environments.
- Integrate Vertica with Kafka, Spark, dbt, Airflow, ETL, and BI/AI ecosystems.
- Architect hybrid and multi-cloud deployments across AWS, Azure, and GCP, including networking, object storage, and Kubernetes operations.
- Advise customers on RBAC, encryption, auditing, masking/tokenization, private networking, data governance, and sovereignty requirements.
- Deliver workshops, hands-on labs, performance deep dives, solution briefs, technical sessions, and partner enablement.
- Develop technical or industry expertise in areas such as financial services, telecommunications, public sector, retail, manufacturing, or data platform modernization.
Requirements
- Strong experience engaging customers in technical sales or solutions architecture roles, ideally involving analytics, data platforms, or hybrid cloud solutions.
- Hands-on experience with large-scale SQL analytics, data modeling, workload optimization, and proof-of-concept delivery.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming or scripting language such as Python, Java, Scala, or Bash.
- Practical experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including networking, object storage, security, and Kubernetes.
- Ability to communicate both business value and deep technical concepts, work independently across a distributed APAC team, and produce architecture diagrams, proof-of-concept reports, cost analyses, and migration blueprints.
- Full working rights in South Korea and English fluency.
- Experience with Vertica or comparable platforms such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks, Teradata, Exadata, or Hadoop/Spark is preferred.
- Familiarity with in-database machine learning, Vertica ML, VerticaPy, enterprise ML pipelines, or regulated industries is preferred.
