Responsibilities
- Translate ambiguous client business problems into scoped AI use cases, MVPs, data requirements, and evaluation criteria.
- Build prototypes and production solutions using LLMs, RAG pipelines, fine-tuning, agents, and traditional machine learning.
- Design AI architectures covering data ingestion, feature pipelines, embeddings, vector stores, model selection, tuning, and evaluation.
- Develop prompt designs, guardrails, system instructions, and monitoring for model performance, drift, hallucinations, prompt failures, and regressions.
- Integrate AI components with client APIs, data warehouses, SaaS platforms, and cloud, hybrid, or on-premises infrastructure.
- Optimize systems for latency, cost, reliability, and scalability while addressing security, compliance, data residency, and legacy-system constraints.
- Provide technical training and knowledge transfer to clients and capture reusable architectures, patterns, accelerators, playbooks, and reference implementations.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering, data science, architecture, product, and design teams through complex delivery cycles.
- Support pre-sales activities with technical credibility and demonstrations, and share lessons learned across engagements.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of AI/ML engineering experience and at least 7 years of experience with cloud platforms and modern data infrastructure.
- Strong data structures, algorithms, and system design fundamentals with Python production experience.
- Deep applied AI/ML expertise spanning NLP, transformers, generative models, reinforcement learning, classical machine learning, and statistical modeling.
- Advanced LLM/RAG engineering experience with prompt pipelines, embeddings, vector stores, hybrid retrieval, grounding, hallucination mitigation, and evaluation frameworks.
- Experience with LLMOps/MLOps, automated testing, drift monitoring, safety and guardrails, ML CI/CD, telemetry, lineage, and governance.
- Experience with containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and Azure, GCP, or AWS; Azure is preferred.
- Proven client-facing experience in technical consulting, solutions engineering, or product engineering.
- Familiarity with enterprise security, compliance, and governance requirements including SOC 2, GDPR, and HIPAA.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and navigate ambiguous requirements while iterating toward solutions.
- Hands-on experience training or fine-tuning models and significant management experience in consulting or industry.
- Preferred experience includes production AI agents or autonomous systems, the modern Python AI stack, and forward deployed, field engineering, or technical account management work.
- Domain expertise in finance, healthcare, government, or manufacturing is advantageous.
