Responsibilities
- Design and develop performance-optimized ABAP solutions for SAP HANA using HANA pushdown principles.
- Build enterprise data models and semantic artifacts with CDS views, associations, annotations, and authorization concepts.
- Implement performance-critical logic using AMDP and SQLScript and develop stable, versioned services and APIs using OData patterns.
- Build AI-enabled SAP experiences using LLM integration, tool-calling orchestration, retrieval grounding, prompt and context strategies, and safe fallbacks.
- Create automated unit, integration, contract, performance, and AI evaluation tests with monitoring for drift and regressions.
- Implement AI guardrails including authorization-aware filtering, redaction, action confirmations, and audit logging.
- Instrument services with logs, metrics, and traces and support reliability engineering, incident response, diagnostics, retries, idempotency, and safe failure modes.
- Integrate SAP services with SAP and non-SAP ecosystems, cloud runtimes, API gateways, and enterprise integration platforms.
- Collaborate with UX, integration, data, and platform teams to evolve prototypes into secure, compliant production systems.
Requirements
- At least 7.5 years of professional experience is required.
- Strong hands-on expertise in SAP ABAP Development for HANA, including performance tuning, pushdown, and efficient SQL access patterns.
- Proficiency with CDS views, associations, annotations, authorization concepts, and modern enterprise data modeling.
- Experience with AMDP and SQLScript for performance-critical scenarios and controlled code pushdown.
- Solid software engineering practices including clean design, testing, production readiness, and CI/CD orientation.
- Experience building AI-native capabilities involving LLM integration, retrieval grounding, tool orchestration, evaluation loops, and safety boundaries.
- Knowledge of OData and service design, API lifecycle management, and contract-first development is beneficial.
- Experience integrating SAP backends with cloud runtimes and enterprise integration platforms is beneficial.
- Familiarity with performance benchmarking, load testing, query-plan tuning, SAP security, authorizations, and compliance requirements is beneficial.
- Fifteen years of full-time education is required.
