Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable software that calculates taxes accurately and efficiently across global Amazon operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to translate requirements into tax-compliant technical solutions.
- Develop, test, deploy, document, and support high-quality distributed systems software.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, source control, build processes, and the full software development lifecycle.
- Monitor production metrics, identify optimization opportunities, and improve system reliability, performance, and scalability.
- Participate in on-call rotations and operational support for production services.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- Preferred: at least 3 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
