Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, reusable Python applications and backend services.
- Build RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, asynchronous services, distributed applications, and microservices.
- Translate business and functional requirements into technical solutions and clean architecture designs.
- Implement authentication and authorization using OAuth2, JWT, SSO, and RBAC.
- Design containerized applications for cloud and Kubernetes-based deployment environments.
- Build event-driven systems using message brokers and services such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS, and Celery.
- Design, develop, and optimize relational and non-relational database solutions, including queries, stored procedures, indexing, and performance tuning.
- Develop and maintain unit, integration, and end-to-end tests and enforce quality gates.
- Implement secure coding, vulnerability remediation, logging, monitoring, tracing, alerting, auditability, and reliability practices.
- Participate in system design, technical reviews, architecture decisions, code walkthroughs, and technical design sessions.
- Mentor junior and mid-level developers on Python, technical design, and engineering standards.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, business analysts, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and stakeholders.
- Provide technical estimates, identify risks, support sprint planning and delivery, and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Experience designing and developing scalable Python applications and backend systems.
- Experience with Python frameworks such as Django, Flask, and FastAPI; experience with Tornado, Falcon, or Pyramid may be useful depending on project needs.
- Experience building REST APIs and, where required, GraphQL services.
- Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, SSO, RBAC, microservices, distributed systems, resilience patterns, retries, and fault tolerance.
- Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, AWS SQS/SNS, Celery, and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, SQL, stored procedures, and data access layers.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps tooling, release automation, deployment, monitoring, and observability.
- Experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests using tools such as PyTest, UnitTest, Mock, Selenium, or Playwright.
- Experience with secure coding, performance optimization, code reviews, clean coding, maintainability, and quality standards.
- Experience with ELK Stack, Grafana, Prometheus, Datadog, or Splunk for logging, monitoring, tracing, and alerting.
- Strong technical collaboration, communication, mentoring, risk identification, and stakeholder-influence skills.
- Valued additional experience includes Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, model-serving APIs, Airflow, serverless architectures, JavaScript, React, Angular, HTML/CSS, domain-driven design, and regulated enterprise domains.
