Base Salary
$140k - $175k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect, design, and develop software components for space products and radiation-effects mitigation technologies
- Create software requirements, functional specifications, design specifications, and software test plans
- Develop, modify, and maintain applications and board-support software for single-board computer products
- Collaborate with hardware engineering teams to design hardware-software interfaces and implement device drivers
- Participate in software testing and troubleshooting
- Provide verbal and written status updates on project goals
Requirements
- BSEE, BSCE, or BSCS degree
- At least 7 years of software development experience with an emphasis on embedded systems
- Experience with embedded processors or microcontrollers such as ARM, PowerPC, x86, TI-DSP, and 8051
- Experience with embedded Linux, Linux kernel internals, VxWorks, and cross-platform development tools
- Experience with embedded-system interfaces and protocols including PCI, USB, RS-422/232, SPI, SpaceWire, Ethernet, and CAN
- Familiarity with low-level programming in C or C++
- Experience working alongside hardware engineers during board bring-up
- Familiarity with the software lifecycle from customer-requirements analysis through deployment, maintenance, and support
- MATLAB programming expertise preferred
- Python or other scripting and test-language experience preferred
- Experience with Texas Instruments software development tools, including Code Composer, desired
- U.S. person status required for security clearance and export-control compliance
- Ability to work independently in a dynamic environment and demonstrate analytical, detail-oriented, collaborative, and initiative-driven behavior
