Responsibilities

  • Evolve RokuOS system software and fundamental platform APIs used by internal systems and external higher-level SDKs.
  • Develop high-performance, ultra-reliable software using C++ and extensive changes to an existing codebase.
  • Design and implement APIs that enable channel partners to use modernized Roku platform capabilities.
  • Refactor system software architecture to improve modularity and maintainability without privileged workarounds.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure APIs satisfy requirements and platform standards.
  • Use AI tools and agentic workflows to accelerate development, improve code quality, and scale engineering impact.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of C/C++ software development experience, including firmware, full-stack systems, architecture, and API design.
  • 2+ years of Linux application development experience.
  • Advanced AI proficiency, including building repeatable agentic workflows, designing autonomous AI agents, and independently completing complex tasks using reasoning and planning.
  • Experience or comfort with multithreaded and multiprocess development.
  • Bachelor's and/or master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, self-driven, and detail-oriented approach.
