Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategy for improving protection and innovation delivery to in-market Windows devices.
- Lead engineering deliverables affecting billions of Windows customers and collaborate with executives, product engineering, security services, and business units.
- Provide technical leadership for requirements, dependencies, design documents, software quality, and development teams.
- Develop and enhance Windows Update Platform features and the Windows update stack.
- Reproduce, debug, and fix customer-reported problems while minimizing application compatibility risk.
- Collaborate with escalation engineers and global partner teams to debug, develop, test, and ship updates.
- Improve products, tools, and processes and mentor engineers on the team.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 6+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience.
- Experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
- Preferred: 15+ years of experience building and shipping production-grade software products.
- Preferred: experience with OS internals, system programming, Windows system-level programming, and C or C++.
- Preferred: experience debugging server-side, multithreaded, and highly scalable applications and working with complex software engineering projects.
- Preferred: strong software development, problem-solving, communication, cross-functional collaboration, and geographically distributed team experience.
