Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain system software modules for managing, monitoring, and provisioning hyperscale servers, storage, networking, and GPU subsystems.
- Build fleet automation and tooling for hardware provisioning and server onboarding at scale.
- Design and debug firmware components integrating diverse interfaces and protocols across software, firmware, hardware, and operating-system layers.
- Lead platform bring-up, firmware updates, platform diagnostics, board and device bring-up, and complex cross-domain investigations.
- Improve system performance, reliability, availability, fault tolerance, scalability, observability, security, and compliance.
- Develop software features, APIs, architectural improvements, performance optimizations, testing, monitoring, logging, and durable issue fixes.
- Lead code reviews, establish coding and architectural standards, and coach and mentor less experienced engineers.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and customers to resolve complex product issues and recommend enhancements.
- Coordinate moderately complex projects, delegate and prioritize work, monitor deliverables, and provide technical oversight.
- Participate in candidate interviews and provide hiring recommendations.
Requirements
- Principal-level individual contributor role requiring advanced systems software development and technical leadership.
- Experience designing and implementing system software, firmware, provisioning automation, diagnostics, and cross-layer debugging is required by the described responsibilities.
- Ability to work across firmware, hardware, operating systems, bootloaders, silicon, boards, and platform components using logic analyzers, JTAG, and emulators.
- Experience with performance profiling, scalability, fault tolerance, software testing, API integration and versioning, observability, secure coding, and incident response.
- Ability to lead architecture discussions, code reviews, technical investigations, project execution, and coaching or mentoring of engineers.
- Experience with ARM, AMD, Intel, and custom ASIC/FPGA platforms is relevant to the role.
