Principal Engineer - Android HMI
HARMAN InternationalResponsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Android-based HMI applications for automotive infotainment systems.
- Implement UI/UX designs using Android frameworks and custom components.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers, system engineers, and developers to ensure seamless system integration and functionality.
- Optimize application performance for embedded systems with limited resources.
- Debug and resolve Android HMI application behavior, performance, and system-integration issues.
- Work with the Android SDK, AOSP, and Android Automotive platform as required.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and system architecture planning.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong programming skills and hands-on experience with Java and Kotlin.
- Strong Android application-development experience, particularly for automotive HMI/IVI systems.
- Hands-on expertise in Android SDK, Android UI development, and custom views.
- Experience with AOSP customization and the Android Automotive platform is an advantage.
- Understanding of automotive software development, HMI/IVI architecture, and embedded systems.
- Familiarity with CAN, LIN, or other automotive communication protocols.
- Experience with Git, JIRA, and Confluence.
- Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, collaboration, and independent-working skills.
