Software Engineer II (Java, backend)
Guidewire SoftwareResponsibilities
- Analyze product requirements and translate them into functional definitions and software designs.
- Develop InsuranceNow product features and write automated tests, spending over 80% of time on hands-on coding.
- Contribute to continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines for InsuranceNow services.
- Maintain secure code and resolve application security findings with security teams.
- Triage and resolve code defects to support high-quality, reliable releases.
- Support the scalability, availability, and data security of product services.
- Collaborate with product management, QA, operations, domain experts, and distributed cross-functional teams.
- Contribute to product enhancements that deliver measurable customer value.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience using Java and object-oriented programming.
- Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Continuous Delivery, Continuous Integration, Unit Testing, and related engineering practices.
- Cloud services knowledge, such as AWS, is a plus.
- Understanding of SSO, SAML, and authentication/authorization concepts is a plus.
- Experience with agile development environments, TDD, or pair programming is beneficial.
- Strong collaboration, communication, curiosity, and commitment to clean, maintainable, well-tested code.
