Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture and implementation for AI-powered product areas.
- Design and build production-grade systems end-to-end.
- Engage directly with scientific and ML users to understand their needs.
- Make high-stakes technical decisions regarding system architecture and integration patterns.
- Collaborate with product and ML science counterparts to shape product strategy.
- Participate in architectural reviews to raise the collective engineering standard.
- Use AI-native engineering tools to enhance daily practices.
- Coordinate the work of embedded software engineering contractors when necessary.
Requirements
- Experience as the technical authority on complex, production-grade systems.
- Proven track record of building software used by researchers and scientists.
- Experience designing and shipping systems with ML or AI components.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Experience working closely with ML scientists to bridge experimental models and production software.
- Strong system design skills and ability to evaluate architectural options.
- Fluency in AI-native engineering and understanding of LLM capabilities.
