Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Unity’s Vulkan renderer across supported platforms and hardware.
- Optimize CPU and GPU performance, including frame time, memory usage, and hardware efficiency.
- Bring up new Vulkan and GPU capabilities as graphics hardware evolves.
- Shape the cross-platform abstraction supporting multiple graphics APIs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and higher-level teams to solve problems and deliver features.
- Participate in technical design reviews and code reviews.
Requirements
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and multithreaded C++ programming skills.
- Experience with Vulkan or another modern graphics API such as Direct3D 12 or Metal.
- Understanding of real-time 3D graphics, modern GPU architecture, resource management, and synchronization.
- Ability to diagnose rendering bugs and performance issues using industry-standard tools.
- Proactive, solution-oriented approach with an interest in rendering and cross-platform development.
- Hands-on experience with Unity or another real-time 3D engine is a plus.
- Familiarity with mobile GPU architecture or Android, XR, or Linux development is a plus.
- Experience with shader compilation toolchains, SPIR-V, GPU driver debugging, GPU vendors, Vulkan specification contributions, or Khronos working groups is a plus.
