Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the common graphics API and cross-driver abstraction layer.
- Contribute to validation layers and conformance test suites.
- Collaborate with lower-level driver teams to ensure API additions are practical and performant on real hardware.
- Improve system performance, testability, and stability from the API surface through driver command execution.
- Contribute to API specifications and documentation.
- Participate in technical design reviews and code reviews.
- Work with stakeholders and engine teams to understand requirements, plan work, communicate progress, and solve problems.
Requirements
- Experience writing multithreaded C++.
- Understanding of real-time 3D graphics programming, modern GPU architecture, and resource management.
- Experience with a modern graphics API such as Direct3D 12, Vulkan, or Metal.
- Ability to diagnose bugs and performance issues using industry-standard tools.
- Proactive, solution-oriented approach with good communication skills and interest in rendering and cross-platform development.
- Willingness to work in unfamiliar technical areas.
- Experience with conformance tests, validation layers, or tooling that holds multiple implementations to a shared specification is advantageous.
- Familiarity with CPU and GPU debugging and profiling tools such as RenderDoc, PIX, or platform-specific captures is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience with Unity or another real-time 3D engine is advantageous.
