Responsibilities
- Develop and support the ongoing evolution of electronic FX trading platforms and supporting services.
- Own applications and products end to end from architecture and design through development, deployment, and production support.
- Build and maintain distributed, scalable, high-performance, and low-latency applications using core Java, sockets, message brokers, and API gateways.
- Provide L3/L4 support, troubleshoot complex code and production issues, and tune application and database performance.
- Coordinate delivery with product owners, business analysts, scrum leads, developers, and managers.
- Lead a small team of agile developers and help define architecture guides, application blueprints, and system designs.
- Implement continuous integration, build, test automation, and deployment processes.
- Apply Gen AI during product design and software development lifecycle activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a similar technical field.
- Approximately 14–19 years of industry experience.
- Expert-level knowledge of object-oriented programming, core Java, low-latency programming, socket programming, multithreading, and API gateways.
- Experience building and running applications in distributed node architecture on premises using core Java APIs.
- Strong experience building or integrating network applications with sockets and message brokers.
- Knowledge of Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, deadlock issues, and performance issues.
- End-to-end understanding of highly scalable, low-latency, event-driven architecture and API gateway tuning.
- Experience with Jenkins, JFrog, Bitbucket, and Git in continuous integration and deployment processes.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and technical leadership skills.
- Exposure to capital markets, FX or equity trading, OMS/EMS, FIX or binary API protocols, and performance tuning of Java applications is desirable.
- Experience with TypeScript, ReactJS, or other web UI frameworks and programming languages is a plus.
- Ability to work with complex codebases and deliver under deadlines with minimal supervision.
