Responsibilities
- Design, develop, integrate, build, and deploy complex mission-critical software for the Iridium Gateway.
- Triage, diagnose, and resolve issues in deployed software, including supporting operational outages outside normal business hours.
- Apply software development best practices throughout the full software development lifecycle.
- Evaluate gateway features, identify solutions, assess risks, and develop mitigation strategies with stakeholders.
- Collaborate across teams, communicate technical and non-technical information, and maintain productive stakeholder relationships.
- Support knowledge transfer, cross-training, and mentoring of early-career professionals.
- Provide on-call operational support approximately 1–3 times per quarter.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, computer systems engineering, or a related engineering field.
- 8+ years of experience building software solutions for telecommunications or other mission-critical systems.
- 5+ years of experience developing software tools and applications with C and C++.
- Proficiency developing software for Linux/Red Hat operating systems and using databases such as MySQL.
- Knowledge of all aspects of the software development lifecycle process.
- Experience with GitLab, Jira, and Confluence.
- Strong communication, analytical, critical-thinking, judgment, prioritization, ownership, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be a US citizen.
- Preferred qualifications include Python, Go, Bash, Perl, MySQL, IP, SIP, TCP, UDP, 3GPP, ITU, and AWS development experience.

- Base salary range is $120,000–$160,000 USD, with potential eligibility for company stock and an annual bonus.
