$208k - $312k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and build V as Vercel’s primary agentic interface for answering questions, analyzing data, and executing multi-system workflows.
- Build agent architecture for intent understanding, planning, skill and tool selection, failure recovery, and reliable long-running tasks.
- Ship experiences across Slack, the web, and other surfaces, combining natural-language interaction with rich interfaces.
- Develop evaluation, observability, and feedback systems to measure agent accuracy, usefulness, efficiency, and trustworthiness.
- Establish reusable primitives that allow teams across Vercel to contribute capabilities consistently.
- Help define how companies can be operated through agents and translate lessons into infrastructure for Vercel customers.
Requirements
- 7+ years of full-time software engineering experience.
- Strong TypeScript proficiency.
- Comfort working across conversational UI, interactive data experiences, APIs, queues, databases, permissions, and production infrastructure.
- Understanding of AI interaction quality, including context selection, tool use, memory, latency, generated interfaces, uncertainty, progress communication, and requests for help.
- Demonstrated adaptability and ability to learn unfamiliar technologies, domains, or responsibilities quickly.
- Experience using and building agent harnesses such as OpenClaw, Hermes, or Pi is a plus but not required.
