Base Salary
$131k - $197k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and launch Android products and services that solve real-world customer problems.
- Partner with Product and Design to shape requirements, influence the roadmap, and improve user experiences.
- Independently define, decompose, and lead complex projects, including coordinating work across engineers.
- Architect and lead the transition toward a highly modularized codebase to improve build speeds and team scalability.
- Guide technical trade-offs and recommend pragmatic, scalable, and extensible solutions.
- Perform code reviews and design reviews, and write high-quality tests.
- Maintain strong code quality and operational rigor with appropriate monitoring, alerting, and runbooks.
- Become a subject matter expert for services in the domain and create technical documentation.
- Identify and remove developer-experience bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in technical skills, career growth, and engineering best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 9 years of professional Android development experience using Kotlin and shipping apps to the Play Store.
- At least 3 years of modern Kotlin development experience, including practices such as Jetpack Compose and Flow.
- Experience leading projects from planning through release, dispatching work across a team, and mentoring junior engineers.
- Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals, Android design patterns, and best practices.
- Experience integrating with RESTful server-side services.
- Experience with AI tools.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders.
- Strong attention to product design and detail.
- Experience with Scrum or Agile development methodologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Kotlin Multiplatform experience is a plus.
