Responsibilities
- Participate actively in system architecture and design discussions and recommend product, process, and tooling improvements.
- Analyze requirements and design, implement, test, and support application features with attention to performance and scalability.
- Build high-quality reusable code and libraries for cloud-based applications and services.
- Participate in agile product development across all software development lifecycle phases.
- Collaborate with QA, business teams, developers, analysts, stakeholders, and technical leads across global locations.
- Apply code conventions, code reviews, unit testing, static analysis, revision control, and functional and system testing practices.
- Lead the design and development of new or existing projects and services and own features through successful delivery.
Requirements
- At least 10 years of strong technical and platform knowledge, including Java and cloud development experience.
- At least 5 years of experience developing commercial web applications or services used by external customers.
- Thorough understanding of software engineering and computer science principles, including object-oriented design, functional programming, databases, algorithms, data structures, refactoring, debugging, and configuration management.
- Experience with cloud development, preferably AWS and AWS Cloud Products.
- Strong design, problem-solving, analytical, investigative, communication, teamwork, and presentation skills.
- Ability to lead design and development work, operate independently with minimal supervision, and collaborate with diverse global teams.
- Preferred experience with AWS Lambda, serverless architecture, SQL, AWS managed services, Linux, Docker, Scala or other functional programming, Angular 18+, JavaScript/TypeScript, Spring, JVM languages, continuous integration and build systems, Git, GitLab or GitHub, CloudFormation, or Terraform.
- A good degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a numerate field is desirable.
- Knowledge of private market valuations or the financial sector is advantageous.
