Responsibilities
- Participate in system architecture and design discussions and recommend product, process, and tooling improvements.
- Analyze business requirements and design, implement, test, and maintain application features.
- Build high-quality reusable code and libraries while considering performance and scalability.
- Participate in all phases of agile software development and the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with QA, business teams, developers, analysts, and stakeholders across global locations.
- Apply code conventions, code reviews, unit testing, static analysis, revision control, and product testing practices.
- Lead the design and development of new or existing projects and own features through successful delivery.
- Maintain and support all areas of the application.
Requirements
- 10+ years of strong technical and platform knowledge, including Java and relevant software engineering experience.
- At least 5 years of experience developing commercial web applications or services used by external customers.
- Experience with cloud development, preferably AWS and AWS Cloud Products.
- Thorough understanding of software engineering principles including object-oriented design, functional programming, databases, algorithms, data structures, refactoring, debugging, and configuration management.
- Strong design, analytical, problem-solving, communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to lead project or service design and development and work effectively with globally distributed teams.
- Desirable experience includes AWS Lambda, serverless architecture, SQL, AWS managed services, Linux, Docker, Scala or functional programming, Angular 18+, JavaScript/TypeScript, Spring, other JVM languages, continuous integration and build systems, Git, GitLab or GitHub, and CloudFormation or Terraform.
- Knowledge of private-market valuations or the financial sector is advantageous.
- A good degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a numerate field is desirable.
