Responsibilities
- Own either the observability platform or CI/CD platform end-to-end, including architecture, reliability, roadmap, and operations.
- Drive technical initiatives from requirements gathering and design documentation through implementation, production delivery, and operational ownership.
- Design platform architectures for reliability and scale, including topology, integrations, scaling, and reliability models.
- Support developers deploying and monitoring applications on on-premise servers and Kubernetes with Helm.
- Automate provisioning, maintenance, and repetitive operational work.
- Investigate production incidents as the senior escalation point, lead resolutions and post-mortems, and improve on-call practices.
- Mentor less experienced engineers through design discussions, code and infrastructure reviews, and pairing.
- Use AI tools in day-to-day research, troubleshooting, and development.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, SRE, or in closely related responsibilities.
- Demonstrated ownership of technical initiatives from requirements and design through production delivery and operations.
- Confident Linux skills, particularly with Ubuntu.
- Working knowledge of the Prometheus stack, including metric types, exporters, and alerting.
- Hands-on experience designing CI/CD pipelines, build orchestration, and artifact delivery.
- Experience with Docker, image building, and container registries.
- Experience with Ansible and Git.
- Experience using Bash or Python for automation and observability.
- Production and on-call experience diagnosing incidents, restoring services, leading post-mortems, and implementing systemic fixes.
- Experience mentoring less experienced engineers.
- Hands-on experience in at least two of the listed areas: VictoriaMetrics/Prometheus at scale, log pipelines, Jenkins scripted pipelines, artifact management, Kubernetes operations, or Grafana.
- Experience with analytics and data science platforms, remote development environments, bare-metal Kubernetes, Flux, Terraform, Sentry on-premise, ClickHouse, or MongoDB is beneficial.
