Responsibilities
- Lead technical delivery for customer engagements and own strategy and execution across multiple AI workstreams.
- Make architecture decisions across multiple services and organizational boundaries while aligning solutions with customers’ long-term technology strategies.
- Design and build enterprise-scale production AI systems, including multi-agent orchestration, enterprise search, and intelligence platforms.
- Define operational standards, evaluation frameworks, production-readiness criteria, testing strategies, observability standards, and incident-response playbooks.
- Create reusable engineering patterns, accelerators, and platforms to scale the FDE organization and shorten time to customer value.
- Coach team members on system design, customer engagement, and production operations, and contribute to interviewing and hiring.
- Identify structural opportunities to expand AI adoption across customer organizations and feed insights back into AWS services and the FDE organization.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
- Experience mentoring, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
- Experience leading production-scale agent-based development and specification-driven development.
- Experience using AI tools, including evaluation frameworks, agent tools, RAG pipelines, and prompt engineering.
- Business-level Japanese proficiency.
- Preferred experience building or deploying AI/ML applications at enterprise production scale.
- Preferred background as a founder, engineering lead, or startup builder with high ownership and urgency.
- Preferred experience architecting and delivering complex multi-component systems in customer production environments.
- Preferred experience with React, TypeScript, Python, and/or Go.
- Preferred experience leading customer-facing technical projects or managing external stakeholder relationships.
- Preferred 3+ years working in an Agile, startup, or rapidly scaling environment.
