Responsibilities
- Design, develop, implement, deploy, monitor, govern, and support enterprise API solutions using Apigee.
- Build API proxies, shared flows, flow hooks, API products, security policies, and reusable integration components.
- Design and implement integrations between enterprise applications, ERP and CRM systems, SaaS platforms, cloud platforms, vendors, and partners.
- Implement API security, traffic management, authentication, authorization, rate limiting, caching, threat protection, logging, and message transformation.
- Troubleshoot production issues involving API performance, latency, scalability, security, and operational stability.
- Gather requirements, prepare technical solution specifications, lead technical discussions, and communicate risks, dependencies, and mitigation plans.
- Support integration, performance, security, and user acceptance testing.
- Implement DevOps and CI/CD practices for API development, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
- Conduct code reviews, deliver proof-of-concepts, mentor junior developers, and contribute reusable assets, frameworks, and process improvements.
- Collaborate with business, security, infrastructure, application, architecture, delivery, and leadership teams and handle customer interactions independently.
Requirements
- College degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience in API development, integration, and API management projects.
- Hands-on Apigee development experience, including implementation in at least two enterprise-scale projects and strong experience with Apigee Edge and/or Apigee X.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, API-first architectures, API proxies, shared flows, flow hooks, API products, developers, applications, monetization, API governance, and lifecycle management.
- Experience with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, JWT, SAML, API keys, mTLS, SSL/TLS, and Apigee gateway policies.
- Experience integrating enterprise applications, ERP systems, CRM applications, SaaS platforms, cloud-native services, and event-driven systems.
- Experience with API troubleshooting, production support, incident management, root cause analysis, performance optimization, and security issues.
- Experience with logging and monitoring platforms, CI/CD tools, Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud platforms.
- Ability to manage technical risks and customer escalations and communicate effectively across business, technical, and leadership teams.
- Experience working in Agile Scrum and DevOps environments; preferred qualifications include Apigee API Engineer or related Google Cloud certifications.
- Additional preferred experience includes IBM API Connect, DataPower, Kafka, Pub/Sub, Terraform, API monetization, partner onboarding, enterprise architecture frameworks, project audits, and project metrics.

- The position is based in the United States, with the listed salary range for all other U.S. office locations, including Sacramento, of $67,000 to $136,800.
