Base Salary
$114k - $218k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, code, and test complex solutions across multiple technologies and integrate existing systems and tools.
- Lead code and design reviews, communicate updates to stakeholders, and coordinate delivery across internal and vendor teams.
- Develop algorithms, investigate and resolve complex application and system problems, and direct end-to-end production troubleshooting.
- Mentor and coach engineers on system design, development, and maintenance, and review teammates’ code.
- Shape domain architecture and quality standards, identify technical debt and performance issues, and optimize solutions.
- Deliver ALIP business and product configuration across business rules, workflows, UI configuration, underwriting, integrations, and CI/CD promotion pipelines.
- Serve as the primary technical liaison between USAA and Accenture and align integration, underwriting, and Data & Analytics teams.
Requirements
- At least 6 years of software development experience with depth in specific disciplines or technologies, including highly configurable, business-rule-driven systems.
- At least 4 years delivering solutions across the software development lifecycle, including leading code and design reviews and coordinating vendor and internal delivery.
- Basic understanding of Java, JavaScript, SQL, Go, or Python, with practical experience applying at least one to configuration, data, or integration work; Java, SQL, Python, or XML/XPath experience is cited as an example.
- Experience researching technical issues and troubleshooting production problems across applications, configuration, integrations, UI, business rules, data, and messaging layers.
- Experience communicating technical challenges and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders and aligning cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Strong knowledge of secure coding practices, secure system fundamentals, sensitive member and health data handling, and cloud technologies including AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, containers, and GitLab CI/CD.
- Hands-on experience delivering ALIP Business/Product Configuration, including business rules, workflows, page groups, lookup tables, TCDs, automated underwriting (HLQ), production deployment, and partner integrations.
- Experience in life, annuity, or health insurance policy administration and with AWS EKS, PostgreSQL/Aurora, ActiveMQ/AmazonMQ, Redis, and Control-M.
- Technical leadership experience serving as a platform-vendor liaison, leading reviews, and mentoring engineers.
