Responsibilities
- Drive test strategy, test-fixture design, and test automation for software products involving websites, real-time services, redundant servers, and connected electrical devices.
- Design, implement, execute, and improve product and system tests within project constraints.
- Develop test automation tools and physical test setups that maximize software testability.
- Build test systems modeling energy-management workflows from embedded sensors through real-time software to connected cloud systems.
- Report product defects accurately and contribute to product-quality, planning, and continuous-improvement decisions.
- Collaborate with developers, product owners, and application engineers in an agile team from planning through execution and reporting.
- Explain and justify testing, test equipment, and automation activities to stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Telecommunication Engineering, or an M.C.A.
- 4–6 years of experience in manual testing of complex software products, preferably in Enterprise Energy Management Systems, SCADA Solutions, or Network Management Systems.
- 3–4 years of experience designing and developing test-automation suites for complex enterprise software products.
- Knowledge of fundamental testing and test-automation processes, test levels, test types, and test techniques.
- Strong expertise in Python, VBScript, .NET, TestComplete, and C#.
- Experience collaborating with developers, product owners, and application engineers in an agile framework.
- Ability to analyze complex testing problems, explain solutions, and justify testing and automation activities to stakeholders.
- Knowledge of energy-management and electrical-distribution products such as energy meters, power meters, and breakers is desirable.
- Knowledge of Modbus, ION, Modbus TCP, BACnet, and similar industrial-automation and electrical-distribution protocols is desirable.
- Strong communication, negotiation, attention-to-detail, critical-thinking, and teamwork skills.
