Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and further professionalize the central C# pricing engine.
  • Implement pricing functionality for buy-outs, collective DC products, annuities, and DB calculations.
  • Translate actuarial, commercial, and functional requirements into robust, maintainable, and testable software.
  • Improve the performance, testability, error handling, documentation, and explainability of the calculation core.
  • Further develop the pricing engine’s model structure, naming, taxonomy, and functional organization.
  • Contribute to modularization and standardization of existing models and calculation processes.
  • Support NPV dashboarding and profitability analyses with reliable model output.
  • Document knowledge and make solutions transferable to reduce key-person dependency.
  • Guide and coach junior colleagues on model development, code quality, and technical choices.
  • Collaborate with actuaries, pricing specialists, data scientists, analytics specialists, and IT.

Requirements

  • Completed bachelor’s or master’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Data Science, Econometrics, or a comparable field.
  • At least five years of professional experience as a software engineer.
  • Strong expertise in C#, .NET, and object-oriented design principles.
  • Practical experience with Blazor and ASP.NET for business-critical applications.
  • Strong experience with SQL Server and relational database design.
  • Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
  • Experience designing and developing REST APIs and system integrations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to translate complex business requirements into maintainable software solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring junior developers and promoting engineering best practices.
  • Preferred: experience with Microsoft Azure, cloud-native application architectures, software architecture, solution design, technical leadership, Python, data engineering, analytics platforms, financial services, regulated sectors, performance optimization, automated testing frameworks, quality assurance practices, Databricks, Power BI, or modern data and reporting platforms.
