Responsibilities
- Provide enterprise architecture guidance and help define the company’s technical vision, particularly around microservices and replaceability.
- Develop, maintain, modernize, and deprecate applications and code, including decomposing monolithic applications.
- Evaluate and recommend technologies, define long-term strategies, and maintain awareness of industry standards and emerging technologies.
- Automate deployment of source code and software assets through CI/CD pipelines and support containerized application deployment.
- Create, publish, and promote development and data model standards and guidelines.
- Participate in architecture discussions, design reviews, code reviews, pull requests, and merge requests.
- Collaborate with engineering teams, product owners, and stakeholders to translate functional requirements into product implementations.
- Mentor Software Engineering and QA team members and guide engineers toward effective software design practices.
- Provide third-tier support and consult with engineering teams on critical design and performance issues.
- Educate the organization, share architecture learnings, and provide technical direction and vision.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent education plus relevant work experience.
- At least 7 years of software engineering experience.
- Working knowledge of application architecture principles, design patterns, Spring Boot, Docker, Kubernetes, Spring, JBoss, Tomcat, HTTP, JSON, XML, and web service protocols.
- Experience with Java, JSP, Java Servlets, React and/or Angular, SQL, NoSQL, and web development concepts.
- Knowledge of microservices, GraphQL or REST, version control systems, and Gitflow branch and release management.
- Experience decomposing monolithic applications and deploying containerized applications.
- Understanding of dependency management using Maven, Jenkins, or Gradle.
- Understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery and supporting tools such as Jenkins, Hudson, Bamboo, and GitLab.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies such as Scrum, XP, or SAFe.
- Understanding of cloud application architecture in Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience with event-driven integrations.
- Preferred knowledge of PKI, certificate lifecycle management, and hardware security modules.
