Responsibilities

  • Develop core rendering features, engine components, and tools.
  • Research and implement real-time rendering techniques.
  • Create reusable and flexible rendering technologies.
  • Write technical design specifications.
  • Design, maintain, implement, test, and debug rendering code, pipelines, and related components.
  • Profile and optimize rendering modules in a game engine.
  • Stay current with hardware, software, and computer graphics advances.
  • Investigate and optimize low-level game engine code across multiple platforms.
  • Collaborate with designers, artists, and other engineers to improve visual quality and create immersive game experiences.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with C++ development.
  • Experience working on or creating real-time rendering engines.
  • Experience with modern graphics APIs such as DirectX 12, Vulkan, or Metal.
  • Experience developing rendering techniques and implementing technical white papers.
  • Strong mathematics skills, including trigonometry, calculus, and linear algebra.
  • Experience with one or more of PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5, or Xbox Series S/X.
  • Excellent debugging and multithreading skills.
  • Experience with graphics performance analysis, optimization, and tools such as PIX, RenderDoc, or Razor.
  • Experience with art and content pipelines and workflows.
  • Understanding of memory management, multiprocessor use, and runtime optimization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in an open, feedback-oriented working environment.
  • Desire to improve visual quality in collaboration with art and design teams.

  • British Columbia compensation range of $122,300–$170,700 CAD.
