Responsibilities

  • Lead solution and feature design for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce across e-commerce, POS, and Commerce Scale Unit environments.
  • Translate retail and digital commerce processes into technical and functional specifications and guide architecture and code reviews.
  • Architect and implement Commerce extensions, APIs, and integrations with ERP, payments, tax, loyalty, inventory, OMS, and CRM systems.
  • Design and implement integrations using Dataverse, Power Platform, Azure integration services, and event-driven patterns.
  • Drive program prioritization, dependency alignment, PI planning, backlog refinement, technical milestones, risk mitigation, and delivery tracking.
  • Lead incident response, on-call procedures, root-cause analysis, and operational readiness for commerce production systems.
  • Establish coding standards, automated testing, performance baselines, secure development practices, and release quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for POS, Commerce Scale Unit, and e-commerce assets.
  • Coach and mentor senior engineers and functional consultants on Dynamics 365 Commerce architecture, extensions, troubleshooting, and integrations.
  • Collaborate with product, operations, QA, security, and other disciplines through Agile ceremonies and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Advanced hands-on expertise delivering end-to-end Microsoft Dynamics 365 Commerce omnichannel implementations.
  • Strong experience developing, packaging, and deploying Modern POS and Commerce Runtime extensions.
  • Deep knowledge of Commerce data flows, channel databases, Commerce Scale Unit, configuration, synchronization, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Commerce APIs, OData, REST, and event-driven integrations for payments, tax, loyalty, inventory, pricing, promotions, OMS, and ERP.
  • Strong understanding of OAuth 2.0, Microsoft Entra ID, managed identities, and secure authentication and authorization.
  • Ability to design highly available, high-performance commerce solutions balancing customer experience, reliability, security, and maintainability.
  • Experience with Power Platform, Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, Azure Service Bus, Event Grid, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Functions is preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI, e-commerce architecture, headless or composable patterns, SEO, caching, CDN, Azure Synapse, and Azure Data Factory is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Application Insights, Log Analytics, SRE practices, production readiness, payment security, tokenization, PII handling, and security or compliance collaboration is preferred.
  • Experience with Azure services, CI/CD pipelines, Microsoft Copilot Studio, AI Builder, generative AI, prompt engineering, guardrails, RAG, and agent testing is preferred.
  • A B.S. in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent education and experience, is required.
  • At least 7.5 years of experience is required; the detailed qualifications also cite 10–12+ years in application design, development, and delivery.
  • Strong communication, accountability, decision-making, urgency, constructive feedback, and customer-outcome orientation are expected.
