Base Salary
$87k - $157k/yr
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, code, update, test, and deploy software features and performance improvements.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements and design through implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Serve as technical lead for small projects and ensure technical quality.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and provide guidance to other developers.
- Conduct peer reviews and promote maintainable, high-quality software.
- Drive process, workflow, tooling, and engineering-practice improvements.
- Evaluate field-test results and convert findings into software enhancements.
- Communicate technical progress, risks, and solutions with client stakeholders.
- Travel up to 25% for field testing, client engagements, and program milestones.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM field plus 4+ years of professional software development experience, or a Master’s degree plus 2+ years of professional experience.
- Professional experience using C++ and Linux, including knowledge of the Linux operating system.
- Understanding of data structures and experience with software source control and configuration management tools.
- Experience working in teams and providing guidance and coaching to other developers.
- Exposure to high availability, sensor fusion, target tracking, path planning, communications systems, or military systems integration.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Preferred experience includes Jira, Confluence, Bamboo, Jenkins, Java, front-end development frameworks, relational databases, Python, TCP/IP, UDP, DDS, Docker, Kubernetes, RKE2, simulation, vector geometry, artificial intelligence, game theory, Petri nets, and safety-critical software.
- Active Secret Security Clearance and experience designing complex systems, containerization, Kubernetes management, automation, and large-scale simulation are preferred.
Benefits
- Pay range is $87,100.00-$157,450.00.
- Work is based in Arlington, Virginia, with travel of up to 25% for field testing, client engagements, and program milestones.
