Base Salary
$131k - $237k/yr
Responsibilities
- Analyze, design, code, update, test, and deploy software features and performance improvements.
- Participate in the full software development lifecycle from requirements and design through implementation, testing, and deployment.
- Serve as technical lead for small projects and provide technical direction.
- Mentor and coach junior engineers and help elevate team capabilities.
- Conduct software peer reviews for quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
- Drive process improvement across workflows, tools, and engineering practices.
- Evaluate field tests and translate results into actionable software enhancements.
- Engage with client stakeholders to communicate technical progress, risks, and solutions.
- Travel up to 25% for field testing, client engagements, and program milestones.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a STEM field and 12+ years of professional software development experience, or a master’s degree and 10+ years of professional experience.
- Understanding of data structures and professional experience with C++ and Linux.
- Experience with the Linux operating system, software source control, and configuration management tools.
- Significant team-environment experience, including guidance and coaching of other developers.
- Exposure to high availability, sensor fusion, target tracking, path planning, communications systems, or military systems integration.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
- Preferred qualifications include Atlassian tools, automated build processes, Java, front-end frameworks, relational databases, Python, complex system design, TCP/IP, UDP, DDS, game theory, artificial intelligence, Petri nets, safety-critical software, Docker, Kubernetes, RKE2, simulation, extensive datasets, data processing, accurate modeling, and vector geometry.
- Active Secret Security Clearance is preferred.
