Base Salary
$213k - $263k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive the technical architecture and implementation of core services for authoring, managing, and executing evaluation workflows at scale.
- Collaborate with Eval developers and simulation and analysis infrastructure teams to translate ambiguous requirements into documented API contracts and engineering deliverables.
- Ensure authoring APIs represent real-world evaluation complexity while remaining computationally efficient and highly reliable.
- Mentor junior engineers and champion software development best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience focused on backend systems or APIs.
- Extensive experience building scalable distributed systems and developer-facing APIs.
- Proven experience owning large features from design through deployment.
- Expertise in systems design and data modeling for high-throughput, low-latency applications.
- Strong proficiency in C++ or Python.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional partners.
- Preferred: experience designing API-centric systems for internal developer platforms or tools.
- Preferred: advanced degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- Preferred: familiarity with the software development lifecycle for evaluation or machine learning systems.
- Preferred: interest in safety-critical systems and robust developer experiences.
