Base Salary

$180k - $220k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end autonomy software integration onto new vehicle platforms through architecture, interface definition, first engaged drive, validation, and handoff.
  • Design vehicle compute topology, network segmentation, power and data paths, and interfaces among autonomy compute, safety controllers, and vehicle ECUs.
  • Build and validate drive-by-wire interfaces and bring up lidar, radar, and camera sensor suites, including drivers, time synchronization, and calibration.
  • Own Linux software baselines, configuration management, reproducible vehicle platforms, and porting of control software to real-time embedded targets.
  • Build bench setups, on-vehicle test procedures, and automation to detect regressions and support scalable fleet deployment.
  • Debug across the software-to-actuator boundary, set standards for interfaces and tools, mentor engineers, and maintain integration documentation and specifications.
  • Participate in on-vehicle and test-track testing and travel approximately 10%.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience integrating software and hardware onto vehicles, robots, or other physical systems with real actuators and sensors.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • Strong C or C++ and working Python experience, including code that runs on Linux and communicates with hardware.
  • Hands-on experience with CAN, CAN-FD, automotive Ethernet, and related tooling.
  • Working knowledge of Linux systems and networking, including machine images, network interfaces, and configuration management automation.
  • Demonstrated ownership of a full platform integration from architecture and interface definition through on-vehicle validation and handoff.
  • Comfort working on vehicles and test benches and a track record of resolving integration problems across team boundaries.
  • Preferred qualifications include vehicle compute and network topology design, VLAN and switch configuration, PTP/gPTP, DDS, drive-by-wire, motion control, vehicle dynamics, lidar/radar/camera bring-up, SerDes camera pipelines, GNSS/INS, IMU integration, RTOS, timing analysis, safety-oriented embedded C or C++, Yocto, Ubuntu image customization, Ansible, CI for on-vehicle software, ISO 26262, safety cases, and heavy or off-highway vehicles.
