Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Own the workflow and BPM architecture roadmap, standards, design guardrails, and governance for the Opto WES platform.
- Design, document, and govern workflows using business process management and mapping tools while promoting no-code process design.
- Lead workflow migrations and evaluate consolidated workflow-engine strategies using licensing, total-cost-of-ownership, cost-benefit, and proof-of-concept analysis.
- Define blueprint architectures, decision memos, and Architecture Review Board-ready artifacts.
- Provide day-to-day technical leadership to the CapBPM engineering team and review its designs and implementations before merge and release.
- Manage technical intake, work prioritization, delivery-health tracking, risk escalation, staffing coordination, and capability planning for CapBPM.
- Coordinate workflow dependencies with product, project delivery, and DevSecOps teams and report workflow direction and decisions to executives.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with deep experience designing and operating workflow, BPM, or orchestration systems such as Camunda, Flowable, or equivalent.
- Hands-on experience with business process management and mapping tools, workflow migration projects, and no-code or low-code process design.
- Demonstrated ownership of production-platform architecture, including standards definition and design governance.
- Strong backend engineering foundation with Java, Spring Boot, integration, and microservice experience.
- Experience providing technical leadership to distributed or vendor-staffed engineering teams.
- Ability to make and defend technology decisions through cost-benefit analysis, total-cost-of-ownership modeling, and proof-of-concept work.
- Excellent written communication skills, including architecture documentation and executive-level reporting.
- Preferred experience in WES, WMS, warehouse automation, or industrial orchestration domains.
- Preferred familiarity with multi-tenant configuration, platform consolidation, BPM or mapping-tool providers, BPM licensing negotiation, and Agile or SAFe PI planning.
