Responsibilities
- Provide SME support and respond to client questions about application capabilities.
- Partner with business analysts and stakeholders to translate operational requirements into technical designs.
- Design, develop, test, implement, and support enterprise applications using Java and Python.
- Build horizontally scalable, highly available, highly resilient, low-latency, and event-driven solutions.
- Work with on-premises and public-cloud infrastructure, including OpenShift and AWS.
- Monitor and control application development through analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation.
- Recommend security measures and assess post-implementation business usage and system functionality.
- Consult with users and technology groups, recommend programming solutions, and assist with customer-facing systems.
- Define operating standards and processes and ensure required procedures are followed.
- Serve as an advisor or coach to new and lower-level programmers.
- Manage multiple projects, stakeholders, delivery timelines, risks, and control issues with limited supervision.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in software applications development, including at least five years with Python and Java.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience.
- Strong experience with Python, Java, Spring Core, Spring Integration, and Spring Batch in large-scale, high-volume environments.
- Experience with systems analysis, application programming, successful project implementation, and consulting or project-management techniques.
- Experience designing enterprise, event-driven, horizontally scalable, highly available, highly resilient, and low-latency applications.
- Knowledge of on-premises and public-cloud infrastructure, including OpenShift and AWS.
- Understanding of microservices architecture, SQL, major relational database management systems, XML parsing and schemas, JSON, and third-party libraries.
- Experience with Unix/Linux commands and basic scripting.
- Experience with Advanced REST Client or a similar tool.
- Experience with design standards, frameworks, multiple technologies, and automated testing tools such as JUnit.
- Knowledge of Git, IntelliJ IDEA or Eclipse, Maven, LSE, and JIRA.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines and changing requirements, communicate effectively, and operate with limited direction.
- Preferred working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and Test Driven Development methodologies.
