Responsibilities
- Build new features for developer platform products including Harbour, Mentor, IT-Health, and Agora.
- Support development teams by triaging and fixing production issues.
- Develop impactful claims features from grooming and design through delivery.
- Refine existing claims software to improve agent experience, reduce friction, and enhance performance.
- Contribute to software design, development, testing, deployment, observability, and production support.
- Work with senior developers and product-centric teams to deliver reliable, scalable software and incorporate feedback.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in software development, computer science, or a related field.
- Must be an active student during the internship and/or returning to school in Summer or Fall 2027.
- Available to work full-time, 35 hours per week, during the Winter 2027 term from January through April.
- Understand the software development lifecycle and be curious about continuous delivery pipelines and testing.
- Demonstrate analytical, problem-solving, communication, adaptability, curiosity, self-reliance, and commitment to continuous learning.
- Java and GitHub are required for the developer platform assignment; Java development is required for the claims assignment.
- Preferred qualifications include Spring Boot, REST services, API scraping, MongoDB, AWS, Agile/Scrum, microservices, Guidewire, or property and casualty insurance experience.
