Responsibilities

Design, build, maintain, and optimize high-performance Golang services and scalable gRPC and REST APIs.
Own microservices end to end, including requirements gathering, architecture, implementation, deployment, and operational support.
Collaborate with Product, DevOps, and other teams to translate feature requests into robust technical solutions.
Establish engineering best practices including code reviews, automated testing, observability, and CI/CD pipelines.
Adhere to security policies, coding standards, and financial and insurance regulatory requirements.
Monitor and improve production service reliability, performance, and cost.
Use AI tools responsibly to improve productivity, reduce repetitive work, support decisions, and deliver higher-quality outcomes.

At least 6 years of backend development experience, including at least 3 years of production experience with Golang.
Demonstrated experience designing and evolving gRPC and REST APIs at scale.
Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architectures, and cloud-native patterns.
Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps workflows.
Experience with PostgreSQL and message queues such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on clean, efficient, maintainable systems.
Ability to structure effective AI prompts, critically validate outputs, understand limitations, and take responsibility for final results.
Excellent English communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment.
Experience in insurance, fintech, or financial services is preferred.
Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or Jaeger is preferred.
Experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure is preferred.
Knowledge of Terraform or Helm is preferred.
German language skills are a plus.
