Responsibilities

Develop and maintain robust and scalable backend services primarily using Kotlin and Ktor.
Contribute to the architecture and design of a multi-regional backend and its microservices.
Maintain and manage SQL and NoSQL databases.
Integrate services with search clusters such as OpenSearch.
Develop payment and product platform capabilities with a focus on fault tolerance.
Manage deployments using GitHub, Gradle, and CircleCI.
Monitor services in clusters and through Sentry and Datadog.
Mentor junior engineers and guide them on engineering best practices.

7+ years of professional backend engineering experience.
At least 3 years of Kotlin development experience.
Extensive understanding of modern and asynchronous backend frameworks.
Experience with Kafka or a similar event-streaming platform.
Proficiency with Git, continuous integration and delivery, and build automation.
Knowledge of deploying, ingress, monitoring, and managing backend services in Kubernetes.
Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Ktor experience in a large-scale production environment is strongly preferred.
Hands-on payment-platform experience is advantageous.
Familiarity with AWS and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Terragrunt is preferred.
