Responsibilities
- Own the technical architecture for the AI-native Signals platform from edge sensor and device ingestion through cloud processing and customer-facing delivery.
- Design scalable real-time, event-driven, and streaming data pipelines that fuse signals from autonomous machines, robots, and IoT devices.
- Architect AI/ML infrastructure and model-serving layers that convert raw signal data into alerts, insights, and automated responses.
- Establish platform-wide standards for data contracts, APIs, observability, security, and reliability.
- Partner with Robotics, ML, Product, and Security Operations teams to translate field requirements into scalable platform capabilities.
- Evaluate build-versus-buy decisions and lead technical due diligence for platform components and vendors.
- Mentor senior and staff engineers and serve as a technical escalation point for the Signals platform.
- Lead architectural reviews and ensure low-latency and high-availability requirements are met.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 3+ years in a lead architect or principal engineer role.
- Experience architecting large-scale real-time data platforms using streaming, event-driven, or publish/subscribe architectures such as Kafka, Kinesis, or Pulsar.
- Strong background in AI/ML systems architecture, including model serving, feature pipelines, and MLOps.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and microservices design; AWS experience is preferred.
- Experience with IoT, robotics, or edge-device data ingestion is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to set technical direction, drive architectural decisions, and mentor senior engineers.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to align cross-functional stakeholders around a technical roadmap.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
